Situation:
A well established, boutique academic research organization (ARO) needed to develop project management (PM) competencies in their team.
Solutions:
- After conducting a training-needs analysis, Halloran developed a customized, five-module, 40-hour training curriculum that integrated the project management body of knowledge (PMBOK®) into a PM framework for clinical research projects.
- Each module applied skills and tools via highly interactive activities and built on previous ones, allowing competencies to be synthesized and strengthened over time.
Value:
The team received significant hands-on experience applying and integrating PM competencies in a collaborative environment, increasing both their productivity and the integration of the concepts into their projects in real time. To continue building capacity, client facilitators will be trained to deliver the curriculum, and PM frameworks for various project types will be developed.
